Michael has an Honors BS in Finance from Indiana University, an MBA from the University of North Carolina and is a graduate of General Electric’s Financial Management Program. He is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA). That said, he considers his most valuable business degree owning two of his own businesses as an entrepreneur.
He has held leadership roles in finance, operations, technology, program management and product management in start-ups, mid-size fintechs and large financial services firms. He’s had full P&L ownership in multiple roles as an entrepreneur, general manager and product owner and has taken part in multiple business sales/acquisitions. As such, he brings an understanding and compassion to small business owners as they go through their own transitions.
Michael lives in Los Angeles. He spends his spare time biking and running in the Santa Monica mountains training for triathlons and enjoying the tiki lifestyle with his family. The latter of which includes the leader of the Jack clan – Ollie the bulldog.
Kelly Deis is the President and Founder of Soundpoint Consulting. Kelly has 25+ years of extensive experience and knowledge spanning multiple industries in business valuations, exit planning, corporate re-structuring and financial modeling.
Having experienced her own divorce, she brings a wealth of perspective, compassion and knowledge to couples working through a marital dissolution.
Kelly has an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in Finance, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University. Prior to founding Soundpoint Consulting, she was a Senior Engagement Manager at Deloitte Consulting and held senior-level management positions at several Fortune 500 companies.
She is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA), and Certified Exit Planning Analyst (CEPA). She is also trained in mediation and Collaborative Law.
Away from the office, Kelly bikes and hikes, reads non-fiction, travels and is a member of Rotary. Soon to be an empty-nester, she and her two boys live on Bainbridge Island.
